Fishing equipment in the Tripoli community

In the port of Tripoli, gillnets and trammel nets are the most commonly used equipment, followed by hooks and lines. Fishing with traps is practiced by a very small number of fishermen.

Only three vessels are equipped for sardine with purse seines nets, but during the summer season some vessels, which use this type of fishing, flow into Tripoli from the Abdeh port in Akkar.

In one side of the port there is a primitive winch to pull dry boats for maintenance.
