The fishermen of Marsa Matrouh in Tricase

It is finished the training for the fishermen of Marsa Matrouh hosted in Tricase (Italy) during the course “Multifunctionality and diversification of activities in a small-scale fishing community“, organized within the NEMO Egypt Project.

The opportunities for diversification of fishing activities were presented to the fishermen through meetings with experts and visits to the realities already active in the area.

The training course also included the presentation of the regulations governing small-scale fishing in Italy and a visit to the protected marine area of Porto Cesareo.

The ten days of training allowed the fishermen to exchange and share knowledge and experiences with the small fishing communities of Southern Italy.
