The Callinectes sapidus in the Marchica lagoon
His presence had already been reported a year ago, during the online meetings between the coastal communities that animate the digital port of the Mediterranean, Webport.
Today the presence of the blue crab (Callinectes sapidus) continues to arouse concerns among the fishing communities of the Marchica lagoon, in Nador.
This species, recognizable for its many colors, is particularly invasive, due to its great reproduction speed. The strength of its claws, which can seriously damage fishing nets, also causes significant losses to fishermen.
According to the latter, this new species would have been introduced into the lagoon by the lagoon-cleaners working in the seas of other parts of the world.
