The kiosk of local products in Matrouh

A kiosk for the sale of local products of the Matrouh Association for Desert Agricultural Development – MADAD, was inaugurated on July 26, 2018. The kiosk aims to promote and improve the conditions of sale of local products of the Matrouh Governorate which translates in a better economic exploitation of the same products.

The kiosk was installed near the Agriculture Directorate in Matrouh.

The new sales point was purchased by the Nemo project, which aims to enhance the coastal and rural communities of the Matrouh Governorate and is activated by Ciheam Bari with the financial support of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation.

The opening of the new store also coincides with the important beginning of the fig collection season at Marsa Matrouh. The figs of the area, especially for the “Sultani” and “Bayodi” varieties, are a high quality product, highly requested by national and international markets.

WEBPORT is the digital port of the Mediterranean. It is designed and edited by CIHEAM Bari. It started in 2014 with the support of the Italian Agency for Cooperation to Development.

The pages of Albania and Montenegro were created and implemented as part of the CO.CO.TOUR project funded by the INTERREG IPA CBC Italy - Albania - Montenegro program.
