Tricase and Webport at Blue Sea Land 2018
Also the Port of Tricase and WebPort were present at the Blue Sea Land 2018, the Expo of the agri-food districts of the Mediterranean, Africa and the Middle East, held in Mazara del Vallo, Sicily, from 4 to 7 October 2018.
“The Mediterranean network NEMO-Webport: a project of integration for the Mediterranean fishermen communities, promoted by Ciheam Bari and the Italian Cooperation” was the title of the intervention that the Deputy Director of Ciheam Bari, Biagio Di Terlizzi, held in the framework of “Mediterranean Itinerary” session.
The Deputy Director presented the results achieved by the NEMO program and the first digital Mediterranean port WEBPORT.CLOUD which has its organizational and coordination headquarters at the MARE Outpost, peripheral headquarter of CIHEAM Bari, in the Port Museum of Tricase.
NEMO is the cooperation program activated by CIHEAM Bari with the support of the General Directorate for Development Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, for the development of Mediterranean coastal communities through an innovative idea of ”cooperation from the bottom up”.
In the same session, Antonio Errico, of the Magna Grecia Mare Association presented the Porto Museo di Tricase as example of multi-functionality for the enhancement of a coastal community.
