Fishing port of Algiers

The Port of Algiers is used by coastal community’s fishermen.
The fishing fleet in the Port of Algiers consists of 175 units. More than a half are small-scale fishing boats. The remaining part is composed by trawlers and purse seiners. Seiners realize about 80% of the total annual catch of the entire community.
About the captured fish species, 91% are small pelagic fish (in particular sardines) while the remaining part is composed of demersal fish, molluscs, crustaceans and large pelagic fishes.

WEBPORT is the digital port of the Mediterranean. It is designed and edited by CIHEAM Bari. It started in 2014 with the support of the Italian Agency for Cooperation to Development.

The pages of Albania and Montenegro were created and implemented as part of the CO.CO.TOUR project funded by the INTERREG IPA CBC Italy - Albania - Montenegro program.
