The Permanent Cultural Center of Sea Ancient Traditions

It was inaugurated on 30th April 2006, founded and run by the Magna Grecia Mare Association, in partnership with the Town of Tricase. Togheter with the Museum of Traditional Boats and the School of Lateen Sailing and Ancient Seafaring, it is located into “Casotto”, in the Port of Tricase, on the South Quay of the Old Port. It also host the legal and operational headquarters of the Ecomuseo di Venere.

It is a place of research, collection and deepening of knowledge related to the traditions of the sea and to the coastal population, a useful growth factor of coastal areas, their activities and their peoples. It is the center of all the cultural initiatives, conferences, seminars, courses, workshops.

It is a site for the dissemination of the Mediterranean culture, and for sharing knowledge with prestigious institutions, associations, museums and national and international Organizations, with whom the Center has established and continues to tighten fruitful collaborations and exchanges. It is the beating heart of the Port-Museum.

WEBPORT is the digital port of the Mediterranean. It is designed and edited by CIHEAM Bari. It started in 2014 with the support of the Italian Agency for Cooperation to Development.

The pages of Albania and Montenegro were created and implemented as part of the CO.CO.TOUR project funded by the INTERREG IPA CBC Italy - Albania - Montenegro program.
