Festival of rams in Matrouh
As part of the project aimed at intensifying the development of breeding farms in Matrouh, the Festival of rams took place on October 10, 2018, for the selection of the best rams in the area.
The festival was attended by over one hundred breeders and many experts in the livestock sector for the selection of the best and most distinctive specimens.
The Matrouh area is famous for the breeds of the “barki” breed sheep, a fat-tailed breed, very famous throughout the Middle East and North Africa for its meat, low in fat and its wool that is used in the traditional weaving of carpets.
As part of the event, the organizers and participants met with the Governor of Matrouh Magdi El Gharably, who confirmed the commitment to continue supporting the development of livestock farms in Matrouh.
