Slow Food International in Marsa Matrouh

Slow Food International experts, togheter with Slow Food Cairo, met the members of the Matrouh Association for Desert Agricultural Development.

Slow Food, an international foundation committed to enhancing local products and preserving traditional recipes and products, has introduced its general objectives and vision to MADAD members.

It was presented the concept of “SAFEGUARD”, as an instrument used to valorise and protect small traditional productions, races and plant varieties at risk of extinction.

During the two days, they visited also two farms producing figs and olives, to identify the local products and varieties of Matrouh.

WEBPORT is the digital port of the Mediterranean. It is designed and edited by CIHEAM Bari. It started in 2014 with the support of the Italian Agency for Cooperation to Development.

The pages of Albania and Montenegro were created and implemented as part of the CO.CO.TOUR project funded by the INTERREG IPA CBC Italy - Albania - Montenegro program.
