Port of Algiers, removal of abandoned wrecks and boat

Almost 150 official notices were sent, from the beginning of the summer 2017, to the owners of abandoned boats in the different ports of Algiers, for the removal or immediate transfer of their boats.

The measure was taken by the Fisheries Department, in coordination with the Management Company of Fishing Ports (EGPP), under the Port Authority of Algiers (EPA). It is part of the rehabilitation plan of the Algiers ports, which proposes to clean up ports and fishing landings and promotes better sanitation and protection of the marine environment.

Another objective that this provision arises is to ensure more space for boats in activity.
