National advisory day on Marine Protected Areas

On 21st of December 2017, in the Algiers wilaya, was held a national meeting on Marine Protected Areas (MPA), organized by the General Directorate for Fisheries and Aquaculture (Former Ministry of Fisheries). It was organized under the DIVECO 2 Program (funded by the European Union to support the diversification of the fishing industry economy). The meeting brought together industry leaders, officials from the Ministry of Environment and Renewable Energies and the National Commissariat for the coast. The main topics were: the harmonization of the participatory approach, the implementation of future projects on marine protected areas, the “consultation of interested parties in the establishment of AMP”.
