Himara fishermen against to municipality decision
Fishermen required a meeting at Himara municipality to discuss about the last decision of Municipality Council to increase local taxes for economic operators in the region. According to them, this is not a fair decision to fishery sector as they don’t have basic standards infrastructure to develop normally their activity.
In many case they are obligated to use Porto Palermo port for their activity, by risking penalty from Regional Fishery Inspectorate as by license they must anchor only at the main port apron in Himara. Also, there are many others lack of facilities to fishery sector starting from absence of a fish market and a dedicated space to repair their nets and vessels.
