Aquaculture economy in Porto Palermo

Fishing activity in Albania has always had great importance in the Albanian economy.
Aquaculture activity started in Porto Palermo in 2004 and it is practiced especially along the southern coast. In this area, a fish farm has been installed for sea bream (Sparus Aurata) breeding.
Porto Palermo Bay is suitable for this kind of activity. In fact it is very deep and naturally protected from strong currents.

WEBPORT is the digital port of the Mediterranean. It is designed and edited by CIHEAM Bari. It started in 2014 with the support of the Italian Agency for Cooperation to Development.

The pages of Albania and Montenegro were created and implemented as part of the CO.CO.TOUR project funded by the INTERREG IPA CBC Italy - Albania - Montenegro program.
