Morocco and Spain, together, for women
The Department of Sea Fishing in Morocco and the Spanish International Foundation Women for Africa signed a protocol of understanding for the training of women in the fishing sector, in Rabat (Morocco), on Tuesday 28 May 2019.
The agreement was signed by the Secretary of State for Fisheries, Ms. Mbarka Bouida, by the President of the Women for Africa Foundation, Ms. Maria Teresa Fernandez de La Vega, in the presence of the Spanish Ambassador to Morocco, Ricardo Díez-Hochleitner Rodríguez.
Ms Bouida said that this cooperation aims to support women by creating jobs and improving their living conditions and that the achievement of this goal will be facilitated by the great experience of the Spanish Foundation.
According to a statement from the State Secretariat for Fisheries, the training programs reserved for women will be organized on board the ship of the Spanish General Fisheries Secretariat, ‘Intermares’, which will stop in Nador during the summer of 2019.
