World day of safety and health at work
The World Day of Safety and Health at Work has been promoted, since 2003, by the International Labor Organization (ILO) with the aim of promoting, in the whole world, the protection of workers’ rights, safety at work and prevention of occupational accidents and illnesses.
During the event, organized in the Port of Algiers by the Chamber of Fisheries and Algerian Aquaculture, a series of speeches were presented:
– Accidents on board of fishing vessels (presented by a fishing vessel’s captain, teacher at the National Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture);
– Sea safety rules STCW95 (Presented by a teacher of the National Maritime College);
– Improving socio-economic conditions of fishmongers (Presented by the former President of the Algerian Chamber of Fisheries and Aquaculture);
– Professional immersion and hyperbaric medicine ( Presented by the Technical Director of the National School of Professional Diving).
