The arrival of the new year in Siwa

The Siwa Oasis, in the Matrouh Governorate, is a fascinating tourist destination that is particularly appreciated for celebrating the arrival of the new year. In fact, numerous tour operators all over the world organize special tourist packages for the oasis for this occasion, registering significant increases in the rate of tourist employment during this period of the year.

Security, stability and tranquility are definitely the strengths offered to the many tourists coming from all over the world and in particular from Germany, America and Italy.

In addition to the beautiful landscape consisting of sand dunes and vegetation of date palms and olive trees, Siwa offers tourists many attractions.

The Mount of the Dead, the ancient city of Shali and the Oracle of Amun are the most important archaeological sites that can be visited in Siwa and represent an important tourist resource.

Siwa also offers various opportunities to learn about the millenarian culture of the Oasis. The House-Museum, created in collaboration with the Canadian government, is considered one of the most important monuments of the Oasis. A series of cultural initiatives, organized by local authorities to raise awareness of the millenarian local culture, complete the offer for this type of tourism.

Siwa also offers great opportunities for therapeutic tourism thanks to the numerous pools of fresh spring water, ideal for thermal baths and sand especially suitable for therapeutic sand baths.

WEBPORT is the digital port of the Mediterranean. It is designed and edited by CIHEAM Bari. It started in 2014 with the support of the Italian Agency for Cooperation to Development.
