In the Port of Tricase, the story goes on!

“Port of Tricase tales” is a series of cultural events organized by the Magna Grecia Mare Association and the Medialibrary of the Sea to present the history of the port and increase awareness in the community of the priceless value of the Port of Tricase.

A brief and fascinating journey through time, the re-enactment of a historical event that actually happened in the Port of Tricase, sets in motion a real path of reading, narration and animation of historical documents published and found in various archives and preserved in the Medialibrary of the Sea.

A way to teach everyone the local history, certainly useful to know the past, to fully experience the present and to imagine and intelligently plan the future.

The first appointment of the event was held on Sunday 24 March 2019, near the small beach of the port, and wanted to tell an episode that occurred in 1803 in a Tricase café. The story featured the owner of three “trabaccoli” moored in the port of Tricase, the captain of one of the three cargo ships and one of the onboard sailors.
