Fishing of red shrimp in the Port of Algiers

The red shrimp fishery is one of the most important souces of income for the fishing communities in the Mediterranean area.
However, the quantity of the catch is highly variable because the presence of shrimps is strongly influenced by ecological factors, the currents flow and the strong tendency of this species to live in large shoals.

WEBPORT is the digital port of the Mediterranean. It is designed and edited by CIHEAM Bari. It started in 2014 with the support of the Italian Agency for Cooperation to Development.

The pages of Albania and Montenegro were created and implemented as part of the CO.CO.TOUR project funded by the INTERREG IPA CBC Italy - Albania - Montenegro program.
