The first archaeological museum of Matrouh
Inaugurated at the headquarters of the National Library, the Archaeological Museum of Matrouh is implemented through a protocol of cooperation between the Ministry of Antiquities and the Governorate of Matrouh.
The museum has two floors and safeguard over 1,000 artifacts found in the area over the years.
The aim of the intervention is to highlight the central role that Matrouh has had in Egyptian history, in relation to commercial traffic with neighboring countries and with the entire Mediterranean. It will also contribute to revitalize tourism in the area, also in consideration of the tourist influxes, coming with direct flights, from Europe to the tourist resorts of Matrouh.
