Cleaning of the port of El Djamila

A day of sensitization and cleaning of the fishing port of El Djamila was organized by the Fisheries Directorate of the Wilaya of Algiers, with the participation of the Company for the management of ports of Fishing EGPP Algiers, the Municipality of Aïn Bénian, the two companies that deal with urban hygiene and waste disposal, EPIC EXTRANET and EPIC HUPE, the Lega Vela of Algiers and the associations of the area.

The aim of the operation is to make port users, fishermen, restaurateurs and citizens aware of the storage and disposal of solid waste and waste water in the port area.

Also in the context of the same awareness campaign, the biodegradable bags for the collection of waste that are entangled in fishing nets have been handed over to fishermen.

WEBPORT is the digital port of the Mediterranean. It is designed and edited by CIHEAM Bari. It started in 2014 with the support of the Italian Agency for Cooperation to Development.

The pages of Albania and Montenegro were created and implemented as part of the CO.CO.TOUR project funded by the INTERREG IPA CBC Italy - Albania - Montenegro program.
