New structure dedicated to fishing sector in the Ministry of agriculture

After the parliamentary elections, in Albania a new structure of Ministry of Agriculture was established. The fishery sector now has a dedicated Deputy Minister and Directorate.

On this propose, representatives of fishermen from South Albania have requested a meeting with the new Deputy Minister, who has fishery sector under his responsibility. The main topic to be discussed about is a new regulation of law for the Management Fishery Organizations.

Management Fishery Organizations are self-financed associations, funded and supported by the government and managed by fishermen. Actually, these MFO are not working properly as the result of a not clear legislation and internal regulation.

WEBPORT is the digital port of the Mediterranean. It is designed and edited by CIHEAM Bari. It started in 2014 with the support of the Italian Agency for Cooperation to Development.

The pages of Albania and Montenegro were created and implemented as part of the CO.CO.TOUR project funded by the INTERREG IPA CBC Italy - Albania - Montenegro program.
