DGPA meets the fishermen of Alger
On Thursday morning of January 18th 2018, Mr. Taha Hamouche from the General Directorate for Fisheries and Aquaculture (DGPA), togheter with Mrs. Zarouki Rabia, Director in the Algiers Province, have met the fishermen of Algiers port, to listen to their needs and problems.
Several topics were discussed during the meeting: the pollution of the sea and the coast, the increase in costs, the absence of controls that encourages the use of illegal fishing techniques, the lack of a seafarers representative Organization, the absence of an effective collaboration between the Administration and the fishermen, the individual safety of the crews, the lack of respect for biological rest and the lack of a relationship between fishermen and scientists.
