Aurelia back to the sea
Aurelia, a traditional fishing boat, typical of the Cape of Leuca, has been restored and becomes part of the Museum of Traditional Boats in the Port Museum of Tricase.
Aurelia, built by the historic shipyard of Marittima is a boat just over 5 meters long. It was donated to the Magna Grecia Mare Association by his last owner, an elderly fisherman of Santa Maria di Leuca.
The restoration work involved both the wooden structures of the hull and the revision and tuning of the engine. In addition, the members of the Association have provided the construction of the traditional Aurelia arm which is now armed with a mast and a Latin sail.
