CIRAD and Ministry of Agriculture against climate change
CIRAD, Center for International Cooperation in Agricultural Research for Development, signed an agreement with the Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, on 29th May 2018, for the implementation of the climate change adaptation program for vulnerable territories, in Tunisia (PACTE 2018-2022).
The goal is to support the Tunisian minister for integrating of rural development projects.
The actions planned concern the creation of a network of multi-stakeholder platforms for the production and sharing of knowledge on the territory; dialogue with citizens around development issues; planning, monitoring and evaluation of investments for sustainable management natural resources; the economic development of marginal rural areas and the improvement of territorial governance.
The PACTE program will intervene in five governorates of Tunisia: Bizerte, Kairouan, Kef, Sidi Bouzid and Siliana.
