International atelier Clean Ocean in Tangeri
For five days, starting from Monday, October 15, 2018, the city of Tangiers hosted an international seminar on the “Clean Ocean” initiative, which was attended by representatives of the Mediterranean and African countries.
The workshop was organized in collaboration with the Executive Secretariat of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity and saw the sequence of numerous seminars and the presentation of studies on the challenges facing ocean biodiversity and how to address them.
The participants emphasised that the sustainability of the oceans is linked to the conservation of their biodiversity and their ecosystems. The 2030 sustainable development goals have recognized the central role of marine biodiversity in sustainable development.
The participants also emphasised the urgent need to take action to improve the conservation and sustainable use of marine biodiversity.
